Self-sufficient on renewable energy with 4052 solar panels (1,5 GWh/year) on the factory roof in Sweden.

Working sustainably is a key element of our strategy, our culture and our day-to-day operations. We are convinced it is essential to our survival and our success. As such, we are actively engaged with the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals. We want our products to contribute to sustainable development through creativity, innovation, and constant learning in cooperation with our suppliers, our customers, and the local communities where we operate. This is a project that never ends, an ongoing journey towards an evolving destination.


Because we produce our products ourselves, we control the raw materials and processes we employ. But the designs must be sustainable and long-term as well. Products with high-quality design look good longer and are more likely to be reused in new settings. Making a product that is attractive enough to survive a move from one office to another significantly reduces its long-term environmental footprint. For us, appealing, timeless design that can stand up to years of hard use is essential.

When a product is damaged, it must be possible to repair it. When it is no longer needed, it must be possible to strip it down to its parts and reuse them in new products. Whether a product will be able to circulate from cradle to cradle is determined during its design phase. Circularity is thus an indispensable part of design process.


Today our production facility in Nybro, Sweden is completely self-sufficient with respect to renewable energy, thanks to thanks to geothermal heating and over 4,000 solar panels on the factory roof. The panels produce 1.5 million kWh annually. In the coming months, we will be adding even more solar panels. The surplus energy will charge electric cars in the factory car park and compensate for energy used in our external showrooms and sales offices. The system is built to provide sustainable energy for many decades to come.

Even though our production in Sweden is self-sufficient with respect to renewable energy, our products contain raw materials and details that are produced elsewhere. We’re committed to finding local suppliers to minimize transports. To better understand how to reduce our climate footprint, we are currently carrying out extensive analyses, which will provide data enabling us to compare the carbon dioxide emissions of every product in our range. When we know how and how much each product affects the environment, we will be able to make necessary improvements.

During 2021, we will be presenting our comprehensive plan for how and when we expect to achieve NET ZERO – that is, when the difference between the volume of greenhouse gases we produce and the volume of greenhouse gases we remove from the atmosphere is zero. It will not be an easy journey, but we’re convinced it’s a journey we all need to make.


Lintex is a Swedish family company founded in 1983. Today, 80% of our products are manufactured at our factory in Nybro, Småland, a region traditionally associated with innovation, enterprise and furniture production  – a heritage that’s very much alive in our staff. Our employees include several generations of people with experience in manufacturing everything from Swedish art glass to flat-pack furniture, from textiles to automobiles.


We strive to ensure that all wood used in our products is certified by international organizations promoting responsible use of forests. In line with this, we are certified according to FSC chain of custody (License Code: FSC-C170086). The e3 ceramic steel whiteboard surfaces we use are 99.9% recyclable and Cradle to Cradle Certified. We certify our products with the Swedish assessment system Byggvarubedömningen and Möbelfakta. Möbelfakta is a Swedish labeling system covering quality, environment and social responsibility. Requirements include EN and ISO quality standards, absence of hazardous substances and compliance to the UN Global Compact principles. It is a type 1 eco-label according to ISO 14024. We are also ISO 14001-certified.
